Tamara is passionate about inspiring a love for science in children. She graduated from Virginia Tech with her B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to receive a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology with a certificate in Science Communication. She has worked both in the academic field as a laboratory instructor and researcher, and in the educational field as a homeschool science educator, preschool teacher, and scout leader. Across all of her experiences, Tamara has found joy in making learning accessible, hands-on, and fun! 

Tamara and her partner have homeschooled their three children for the past eight years. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, reading, volunteering, camping, playing board games, and going on adventures. Tamara is excited to join the team at The Curiosity Crew this year!
